Some nights need no explanation in Galicia. San Xoán is one of them.
On the night of 23 June, bonfires light beaches and squares across Galicia. People jump over the flames to leave the year's troubles behind, then gather fragrant herbs and leave them outside in the dew until dawn. Talk of meigas carries a particular mix of humour and respect that only makes sense once you have lived it: "They do exist." It is not fear. It is shared memory.
Noite de Meigas comes from that night. This time, the starting point is not a club but a ritual: fire, salt, moonlight and the feeling of staying awake while the rest of the world sleeps.
A shirt with two sides
The design plays with the same duality as the night itself. The front is a clean, restrained cream base with a small lighthouse and moon detail on the chest. By day, on the street, it could pass for any oversized T-shirt. The whole story lives on the back: sea, bonfire and San Xoán night, like a memory kept from a beach after midnight.
That is the idea: a quiet piece until someone sees you turn around.
Why we chose 300 gsm heavyweight cotton
San Xoán is not a light night. There is bonfire smoke, salt in the air and the cold that rises from the sea even in summer. That is why this piece uses heavyweight 300 gsm cotton with an oversized cut instead of the technical fabric found in our street football shirts. It feels closer to a light sweatshirt than a sports shirt. You notice it as soon as you touch it.
How to wear it
It works with denim, wide trousers, jorts or a light jacket. This is one of the few pieces in our archive that does not need a football setting to make sense.
